LORDSHIP SMARTS

The Lordship Fathers Club presents 'LORDSHIP SMARTS', a science exposition open to all students (K-6) who live in Lordship or attend Lordship School.  Projects may be completed by an individual, or in a group limited to two students.

'Lordship SMARTS is designed to demonstrate that ‘Science can be fun’, and to nourish an interest in Science.  Students are encouraged to demonstrate initiative, and responsibility necessary to carry out a Science project, while promoting creativity, ingenuity, attention to detail and communication in Science.  All children should have a sense of pride and accomplishment derived from participation in a Science Exposition,  where the community can gather and appreciate children’s efforts in science.

LORDSHIP SMARTS will be held on :

Feb. 2nd, 2018 - 5pm-8pm at Lordship School

Students should drop-off their project in the Lordship School APR between 12:30pm-3:30pm

All students who participate in LORDSHIP SMARTS will receive a certificate,

with prizes awarded to the top three exhibits in each of the following categories:

Invention, Science through Art, Scientific Experiment, and Scientific Display

All projects should include a brief narrative describing the project and presented in a manner which speaks for itself.  The description should include pertinent processes followed, resources used, concepts you learned, and conclusions.  Students are offered an opportunity to share their project in a brief Q&A with the judging panel during the exposition.

Projects will be measured on complexity, creativity, thoroughness, skill, originality, innovation, practicality, neatness, craftsmanship, understanding of the principles and degree of difficulty.
